J.R. Maxwell Builders worked cohesively with the architects as well as the homeowners to build
this amazing structure to their exact specifications, starting from the outside and working
inward. From the hand-laid stone driveway to the stucco and stone exteriors, the home exudes
elegance as well as grace. Maxwell’s team installed a combination of shingled and standing
seam metal roofing to accent the French villa style home. To compliment the roofing, Mink Run
Millwork, a division of J.R. Maxwell Builders, designed and installed custom shutters. On the
back of the home, they built a lovely walk-out patio for entertaining complete with a unique
step-down concrete and grass checkerboard area.

Upon entering the home, you can see that the custom quality extends throughout the home. At
the request of the owner, J.R. Maxwell home builders removed all hard edges from the walls, and custom rounded
each edge and corner. Walking into the open-floorplan space containing the kitchen, dining
area and living room, light pours in from abundant windows and skylights. The kitchen features
a custom-built island and custom cabinetry from Mink Run Millwork, and the work stations
were built to a specific height to meet the owner’s needs. In the rear of the kitchen, a walk-in
pantry with custom shelving, coffee station and additional sink is a home chef’s dream! A wood-
burning fireplace adds ambiance to the home, and helps transition from the kitchen area
to the living and dining area.

Throughout the custom home build in Bucks County, PA J.R. Maxwell Builders was tasked with using his team’s skills to create multiple “built-
in” pieces. In the kitchen and living room, there are televisions that are built into the walls and
hidden behind artworks. Moving into the master bedroom on the first floor, there are in-wall
drawers, another hidden television and a lovely sitting area. The master bath was built by
the custom home builders team to have a custom laundry cabinet with rolling drawer, which can be accessed
from the bath area as well as the laundry room on the other side of the wall. It’s the epitome of

custom master bath to include separate shower, tub, bidet, two vanities and two toilets. An

Going upstairs, Maxwell continued the rounded walls and corners, constructed two additional
bedrooms and a full guest bath. A large open room is also upstairs, featuring tall windows that
look out over front yard and driveway. These windows are spaced evenly across the width of
the room and add light, air and architectural interest. This room acts as an office and hobby
area, allowing room for a large table and desk. Each room upstairs is crafted by Maxwell with as
much care as the downstairs master bedroom and living areas, and any guest would be thrilled
to stay there.

The custom home garage features ample space to house the family’s cars, storage space and also
incorporates a room above for more storage or as an additional space for hobbies. In this case,
a custom large model train table that was lifted up into and placed in the room. Maxwell built
and installed a sturdy permanent ladder to access the area, and the door to the space closes to
fit as nicely as would any standard upright door. Even in these secondary home areas, Maxwell’s
