Bucks County Playhouse
Historical Renovation
The Bucks County Playhouse, originally a grist mill built in 1790, underwent a huge historical renovation by J.R. Maxwell Builders from 2010-2012. During this time, Jay, James and the team worked to not only modernize the structure, but also preserve its historical status in New Hope, PA. From a new roof and structural upgrades to refinished flooring, ramps and entryway, each aspect of the renovation was imperative to the next. The box office, restrooms, offices, and dressing rooms were rebuilt and upgraded. In 2013, J.R. Maxwell Builders received the Pennsylvania Historic Preservation Award for their renovations on The Bucks County Playhouse.
